Hey there! I’m Gavin Wright, and I’m just about 5 hours into my new Associate Copywriter position here at Key Web (a.k.a K’Dub – Thanks Erin!).
Since graduating from Emory & Henry College in 2009 with majors in Mass Comm and English, I’ve bounced around the various subsets of the communications industry.
I’ve worked in social media, public relations, copy editing, graphic design–I even spent some time working as a restaurant manager–but Key Web is the first place where I’ll be learning extensively about SEO and web writing.
I’ll also be venturing into more social media during my time here, so you’ll definitely be seeing my posts, updates, tweets and pins (I’m still new to Pinterest; is this the right term?).
It’s going to be a steep learning curve to acquire all the necessary knowledge to rock out at Key Web Concepts, but I’m confident I can pull it off.
When I’m not busy picking up the office jargon (Glade is still the first thing that comes to mind when I hear ‘plugins’), I’m usually either cooking or playing soccer, but not both. I can multitask, but that seems ill-advised.
I can already tell I’m going to enjoy being a part of the team here, though I’m positive I would never get any work done if my computer was stationed in the bullpen.
I’ve learned so much in the short time I’ve been here, so I can’t even imagine the knowledge I’m going to have attained once I’m here for, say, a week.
In any case, I’m so happy to have received this opportunity and I can’t wait to see what the future holds, both for me and for this rapidly-expanding company.
See you out in worldwide web land,
